About Every Day is a Year
Hi. I’m Josh Pigford. I’ve spent 30 years building things on the internet.
Flash game sites in the early 2000s. A tech blog that got acquired (RIP TheAppleBlog). A dozen SaaS products. A business analytics company called Baremetrics that I grew to millions in revenue and sold in 2020. An urban vinyl toy store. A pug community (I ran it for 10 years, and yes, I own a pug). Nearly 100 projects in total. Some hit. Most didn’t. All of them taught me something.
Right now I run a toy company, am building multiple SaaS companies and run a fractional consulting practice where I help founders figure out where AI actually fits in their business + help them implement those things. I build with AI every single day — not as a hobby, but as the core of how I operate.
Why this newsletter exists
AI moves at a pace I’ve never seen in three decades of building. Tools launch and die in the same month. Models leapfrog each other weekly. The gap between “just announced” and “already obsolete” keeps shrinking.
I’m already doing the work of tracking all of it — reading every launch, testing the tools that look promising, separating signal from noise. This newsletter is me sharing that work with you.
What you’ll get
Every week:
• The 2-3 things that actually mattered
• A roundup of tools and updates worth knowing about
• Something I personally built, broke, or automated with AI
• One practical thing you can try right now
No hype. No sponsored shilling. No “top 10 AI tools that will blow your mind.” Just an honest look at what’s happening, filtered through someone who’s actually building with this stuff.
Who this is for
Founders, builders, and operators who know AI matters but don’t have time to drink from the firehose. You want the signal without the noise, from someone with skin in the game.
